West End Masterclass – February 17th 2025
We’re back with another fabulous West End Masterclass!
KD Academy is excited to bring another fantastic experience for young people. This masterclass is based on the fabulous musicals Heathers, Singing in the Rain, Priscilla, and Becoming Nancy, with a West End professional! These versatile musicals are set to make an amazing day of learning and fun! This is an excellent chance to see how a real West End star is put through their paces and we cannot wait to get stuck into this amazing day with you!
The day will be split into age groups as the young people rotate around the themed classes featuring lessons with our special guest, Rachel Rawlinson, who has appeared in all the musicals and is currently staring in KD’s Harlow Playhouse Pantomime!
The masterclass will take place at The Ross Peers Sports Centre, Soham on Monday the 17th of February 2025. For ages 5-18 years old. All teaching on the day will be age appropriate.

KD Academy has become a trusted name across East Anglia, offering outstanding performing arts opportunities that inspire and empower young people. This year alone, over 250 young performers have taken part in our training and performances, and we’re thrilled to bring the excitement of Annie to life in 2025.
Our Musical Theatre Experience invites young people from across the East of England to work directly with industry professionals to create a full-scale musical production. Participants will be immersed in every aspect of theatre-making, from rehearsals and costume fittings to technical and dress rehearsals, culminating in an unforgettable show weekend in a professional venue.
Alongside gaining hands-on experience, participants will forge lifelong friendships, boost their confidence, and create memories that will last a lifetime. WHAT IS “ANNIE” ALL ABOUT?
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations… and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
