Here is what we have coming up at KD Academy. We always have lots of opportunities for young people to get involved with the performing arts, working with industry professionals.
LAMDA Acting Course 2024 – Newhall (Harlow)
Our next LAMDA acting course will be starting on Saturday, 7th September 2024. This term LAMDA classes will be a development of acting technique, character-based script work and development of interaction on stage with other actors.
What is LAMDA?
Our LAMDA Acting classes are taught by the very passionate Louise Walker. They take place at Newhall Primary Academy, Harlow, on Saturday afternoons. LAMDA is suitable for all students aged 6 – 18.
The LAMDA course will enhance students’ level of acting and give them the confidence and all of the tools they need to play a character, annotate a script and go that little further in depth with each piece to script they look at. LAMDA is a great way to get students to build confidence, projection, diction and so much more all within the fun KD environment!
Our information pack below has all the dates of the sessions. The exam weekend will be Saturday 22nd / Sunday 23rd March 2025. Exams will take place in Cambridge. We will be entering your child in November once they and their teacher have had enough time to discuss appropriate grades and exam types. Places are limited in our LAMDA classes to ensure that all of the students have enough time with Ellen to achieve the best possible results. Places will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. KD Academy will place your child in the class where we think your child will get the most out of their time.

West End Masterclass – Soham
The masterclass will take place at The Ross Peers Sports Centre, Soham on the 28th of October 2024 (10am – 330pm). For ages 5-18 years old. All teaching on the day will be age appropriate.
School of Rock & Grease!
After incredibly popular West End Masterclasses last year, KD Academy is excited to bring another fantastic experience for young people. This masterclass is based on the fabulous two musicals, School of Rock and Grease, with a West End professional!
School of Rock follows a wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school, and the well-known musical Grease follows a high school romance between Danny and Sandy. We cannot wait to get stuck into this amazing day with you! The day will be split into age groups as the young people rotate around the School of Rock and Grease themed classes featuring lessons with our special guest, Samuel Haughton, who has appeared in both musicals and is currently starring in Phantom of the Opera on the West End!
